Is Rank Up Dota a Dota picker / counter-pick tool?
Yes. Rank Up Dota is a free Dota 2 picker and counter-pick tool. You enter both teams’ picks, bans, and lanes, and it scores every remaining hero live against the current lineup on both sides — surfacing counter-picks and synergy suggestions with a plain-language reason for each. Unlike a static counter-pick chart, the score reacts to what has actually been picked and banned in your game, and it also recommends an item build tuned to the enemy draft’s specific threats.
Is Rank Up Dota free?
Yes. The draft simulator, matchup/synergy database, and itemization coach are free with no login required. An optional AI-generated full build guide, personalized to your exact draft, is available on an affordable Pro subscription — starting at $2/month, with 6-month, yearly, and one-time lifetime options.
Is this a boosting or paid-coaching service?
No. Rank Up Dota does not play on your account, duo-queue with you, or sell rank-boosting services. It is a self-serve coaching tool: you draft, it explains the matchup and suggests items, and you play your own games.
Where does the matchup and hero data come from?
Hero, matchup, and synergy data is derived from OpenDota and dotaconstants public data, cross-checked against current patch notes. Rank Up Dota does not present every data point as equally certain — see the confidence-tier explanation on the how-it-works page.
How current is the patch and meta data?
Rank Up Dota ingests Valve’s official patch datafeed automatically as new patches ship, and refreshes win-rate/meta snapshots from OpenDota on a regular schedule. See the patch notes archive for the full history and dates.
Do I need to log in to use it?
No. The draft simulator and itemization coach work without an account. Logging in with Steam is optional and only needed for the personal stats dashboard (match trends, records, hero pool).
Is my Steam data private?
Steam login uses OpenID (no Steam API key is requested from you), and your profile/match data is read from OpenDota’s public API using your account ID. If your Dota profile is private, personal stats may be limited accordingly.
What is the AI build guide?
It is an optional, subscription-gated feature that generates a full personalized build guide — game plan, item branches, and counter notes — grounded in the same local matchup/synergy/patch data the free tools use, tuned to your specific draft.
